The play is set in 1808 at the Charenton Mental Asylum, where the Marquis de Sade is confined. It tells the story of a play written by de Sade himself,
depicting the assassination of Jean-Paul Marat. The play is intended to be performed by the asylum's patients for an audience of hospital administrators and
an elite circle. Marat's death is famously symbolized by the iconic image of him in a bathtub, a well-known visual used in various adaptations of the play's poster.
In contrast, I chose to focus on Sade and create an exceptional image that refers to him.
