I was asked to design a cover for Betonart Concrete, Architecture, and Design Magazine to celebrate its 60th issue.

My starting point was the name Betonart, which blends 'concrete' and 'art.' In construction zones, people are typically warned not to disturb wet concrete, as the surface must remain flat and smooth. However, it's common for traces to be left behind.

To celebrate this milestone, I chose to break this rule by intentionally disrupting the concrete, emphasizing that such disruption fosters creativity rather than hindering it. This concept aligned perfectly with the spirit of Betonart Magazine.

I mixed mortar in my studio to create a smooth surface, then roughly wrote the magazine's years of publication and issue number to evoke a sense of natural, spontaneous writing. Finally, I photographed the result.
